We love the Homestead. We wanted land around us, and we got our house (which needed to be gutted and lovingly put back together) and 10 acres of land for about the cost of two nice cars, so our appreciation has been significant.
However, our Walk Score is zero.
The second choice of homes would have been downtown in a very urban but neighborhood-rich area with, I'm sure, Walk scores topping the 80s. Most days I'm happy with our decision, but with the snowstorm we are in, not so much today.

I go back and forth between wanting room to roam around and wanting to live in town with little room to roam but steps from a nice coffee shop. :)
I am a city girl through and through. BUT, I don't know that it helps. I am stuck inside today because it is pissing it down with rain and it is blowing a gale (literally). So the coffee shop may as well be 10 miles away!
Hmm. Zero was such an expected score for us, I didn't consider that it could be skewed for the rest of you urbanites. Too bad - it is a great idea.
My walk score is 45… I was rather upset with it. And I was surprised to know that there is another score called drive score
to evaluate my house. I found the way to calculate it online at Fizber site (http://drivescore.fizber.com/). I’ve got much better results – 89.
